Escape the hills of Haflong for a day of wild, scenic Dima Hasao. Starting at sunrise, you’ll wind through the Barail range to Umrangso, where a rolling golf course meets a tranquil lake. From there, step inside the historic Tularam Cave, feel the mist at Dougah Waterfall, and finish at Panimur, the roaring white rapids of the Kopili River that locals call the Niagara of Assam. This one-day Umrangso trip is curated to have a full, rewarding day for nature lovers, photographers, and weekend adventurers, with comfortable private transport and plenty of viewpoints along the way.
Watch the hills wake up. Leave Haflong at dawn and wind through pine-covered Barail slopes, with mist in the valleys and village tea stalls opening along the road.
Stand on one of the most unusual greens in Northeast India. At Umrangso Golf Course you’ll walk wide, open grounds ringed by hills, then sit by the lake with a hot cup of tea while the morning light settles on the water.
Step into a piece of Dimasa history. At Tularam Cave you’ll cross a wooden bridge, walk through forest, and hear your voice echo inside chambers once used as a hideout by Tularam Senapati.
Cool off at a hidden waterfall. Dougah (Miyungma Daogah) Waterfall is small, quiet, and easy to reach, with enough cool spray to refresh you for the next leg.
Feel the power of the Kopili River at Panimur. Hear the white rapids before you see them, watch the water thunder over the rocks, and take a boat ride if it’s running.
Come home with photos nobody else has. Misty ridges, open green fields, cave interiors, and rushing water give you a full gallery from a single day.
Taste the road. Stop for local tea, simple Assamese and Dimasa meals, and roadside snacks in small hill villages.
Travel without stress. A private car and an experienced local driver handle the winding hill roads, so you can enjoy the views instead of the navigation.
