Assam Tea is famous  around the globe but people hardly knows about the gardens where it is grown or produced.

Here are the top 11 largest tea gardens by geographical area and production capacity.

The Mornoi Tea Estate, located in Kokrajhar district of Assam, is the largest tea garden of Assam having an area of 1644.19 hectares. It got its name from the river Moranoi. 

MOrNOI TEA ESTATE

Situated in Biswanath Chariali district of Assam, Monabari Tea Estate is the second largest tea garden with an area of 1367 hectares.

MONABARI TEA ESTATE

The Hattigor Tea Estate is the third largest tea garden covering an area of 1360.7 hectares. It is located in Udalguri district of Assam.

HATTIGOR TEA ESTATE

Located in the Sonitpur District of Assam. One feature which makes it distinct from other tea estates is the way it promotes organic tea farming by offering organic tea farms tour.

NONOI TEA ESTATE

With 960 hectares of area Nonoi Tea Estate is the fifth-largest tea garden in Assam. It got its name from the nearby waterfall, "Nonoi." Locally, it is known as "Rangamatti."

AMCHONG TEA eSTATE

The Amchong Tea Estate is the sixth largest tea estate with an area of 721.15 hectares. It is situated in the Kamprup district. It is popular producing the finest tea.  

The Jalinga Tea Estate is located in the Cachar district of Assam. It focuses on producing organic Assam tea, spice tea and many more. 

JALINGA TEA eSTATE

With an area of 604.62 hectares, the Nagrijuli Tea Estate is located in the Baksa district of Assam. Both the CTC and orthodox tea produced in the garden marks it significance.

The Manohari Tea Estate is situated in the Dibrugarh district of Assam. It covers an area of 340.12 hectares. It is popular for producing the most expensive Manohari Gold Tea. 

Located in the Nagaon district of Assam, the Amsoi Tea Estate comes in the 11th position with an area of 134.11 hectares. Visitors would be impressed by the structural beauty of it.
